The Mach 4 SL is designed for an internal routing dropper post, so any internally routed dropper post or wireless 31.6mm dropper post is compatible.
What does the flip chip on the Mach 4 SL do?
The flip chip on the Mach 4 SL adjusts the amount of rear wheel travel. In the + it will have 120mm of rear wheel travel. In the – position the bike will have reduced rear wheel travel to 110mm.
How do I use the flip chip on the Mach 4 SL?
The flip chip on the Mach 4 SL has two positions. The +/- etched on the link indicates the position of the upper shock bolt in the link. To change the travel, loosen the upper shock bolt until you can remove the filp chip on the non-drive side. Pull out on the bolt and drive side flip chip until it can be removed from the link. Rotate both chips 180 degrees, position the shock and reinsert the chips into the link. Torque the shock bolt to 13Nm.
A step-by-step guide can be found in tech specs.
What is the Tool Shed™?
The Tool Shed is Pivot’s internal storage and cable management system. This feature allows you to store all your ride essentials safely and cleanly inside the frame. Custom made storage bags are included with each frame. The tool shed also includes internal cable guides to keep your routing clean and quiet, even on the roughest surfaces. Check out the Toolshed and its features in the Pivot’s Pro Garage Video https://www.pivotcycles.com/en/pivot-cycles-tech-video-hub/

How much does it weigh?
he Mach 4 SL frame weights start at under 2500 grams (5.5lbs) with a Fox Float shock. Our complete builds can be under 11kg (24lbs). However, with creative parts selection bikes can be built lighter. With current world cup style racecourses and riding preferences, our builds are designed to handle the extreme end of technical XC riding. Pivot bicycles are among the lightest available, but weight is only one of many factors that make a great bicycle. Other aspects such as frame stiffness, strength, durability, and ride quality are just as important as weight to our engineers when designing our Hollow Core Carbon and aluminum frames. Instead of comparing grams online, we suggest you visit your local Pivot dealer and see our attention to detail, smart, high value spec, and class leading features. Bring a scale if you’d like, but take just one demo ride and you’ll feel why Pivot Cycles are the most well-rounded, highest performing bicycles on the market and in many cases, yes, it’s the lightest as well.
What size rear rotor will fit on the Mach 4 SL?
The Mach 4 SL frame will clear either a 160mm or 180mm rotor with an adapter.
What type of rear brake adapter do I need for the Mach 4 SL?
No brake adapter is needed for a 160mm rotor. However, if you prefer an 180mm rotor, you will need a 160mm to 180mm post mount adapter.
What travel fork can I use on my Mach 4 SL?
The Mach 4 SL was designed for either a 100mm or 120mm fork. The maximum travel length that can be used on the Mach 4 SL is 120mm travel.
What is the fork offset on the Mach 4 SL?
44mm
What is the eye-to-eye shock length and stroke length on the Mach 4 SL?
The eye-to-eye is 190mm with a stroke of 45mm.
If I want to run a different brand of shock on my Mach 4 SL, what else do I need to know?
The Mach 4 SL shock uses M8 through-bolt hardware on both the top and bottom. Shock spacer dimensions are 30mm wide on both ends. The frame is designed around a standard sized air can volume. We typically run medium to firm valving (for XC racing) on the compression side (depending on rider weight) and light to medium rebound damping.
How do volume spacers/tokens affect the suspension feel?
Larger volume spacers will resist bottoming, allow the bike to ride higher in the stroke and generally make the bike feel more “poppy.” If a rider is not getting full stroke or they feel that the bike is riding too high in its stroke, even with sag set properly, then they should go to a smaller volume spacer.
What volume spacers/tokens are used in the Mach 4 SL shock options?
The Mach 4 SL Fox Float shock comes with a 0.5 cu in volume spacer installed. The max size that will work with this Float shock is 0.9cu in

How does Flight Attendant work and why would I want it on my Mach 4 SL?
The Flight Attendant shock and fork automatically adjust between three suspension modes. All AXS components are listening and learning from your riding to customize the system to you and how you ride. To learn more about the system and how it works visit the Rock Shox Flight Attendant page.
Can I add Flight Attendant to my Mach 4 SL?
The Flight Attendant System on the Mach 4 SL is custom tuned for the kinematics of the Mach 4 SL. RockShox will have these specific parts available for aftermarket purchase in the future, but at this time the system is only available with a complete Mach 4 SL build.
How do I set up Flight Attendant on my Mach 4 SL?
Our Mach 4 SL flight attendant build includes all the AXS components to get the best performance and detailed data for Active Ride Dynamics. Begin by pairing all the AXS components. Then set sag as you
normally would. Lastly configure the AXS components.
What kind of rear derailleur hanger does the Mach 4 SL use?
The Mach 4 SL uses the Universal Derailleur Hanger (UDH) for drivetrains that require a hanger. SRAM Transmission mounts directly to the frame in place of the hanger. This derailleur hanger is compatible with all derailleurs on the market that require a derailleur hanger. We spec this hanger because it has some clever derailleur saving features and is more likely to be found at any shop and is also available in our webstore
What rear axle does the Mach 4 SL use?
The Mach 4 SL uses an axle for a 148mm rear spacing designed for the Universal Derailleur Hanger (UDH) standard. The rear axle supplied with the frame is a Pivot specific design using a 12mm X 1.0mm thread pitch. SRAM also makes compatible 148mm UDH axles. Pivot 148mm UDH compatible axles can be found in our webstore.
What are the torque specs?
These can be found in the Small Parts Schematic
