To ensure the best sizing, we recommend that you visit your local Pivot dealer to get a professional fit and refer to our geometry chart to check your measurements. However, we can provide a rough guideline:

 XS: 4'10" – 5’5” (147cm - 165cm)

Small: 5'3" – 5’8” (160cm - 172cm)

Medium: 5'5” – 5’11” (165cm - 180cm)

Large: 5’10”– 6’1” (178cm - 185cm)

X-Large: 6'1" + (185cm +)

Yes, internally routed dropper posts are compatible with the LES SL.

There are limitations that each dropper post has for each frame size based on the rider’s saddle height, so it is important to check the fit before choosing the travel and model of dropper post for your LES SL. Use the Dropper Fit Guide under the Tech Specs section to help identify the right post length. 27.2mm

The LES SL uses Boost 148mm x 12mm hub/wheel spacing. This hub design has wider flanges, so you cannot change the end caps to convert an existing 135mm, 142mm, 150mm, or 157mm hub.

The new LES SL does not use our Swinger adjustable dropouts so there is no adjustment built into the frames for easy chain tensioning. That said, If you want to set up the LES SL as a single speed, you will need an independent chain tensioner that attaches to the derailleur hanger in place of the derailleur.

29” x 2.4 WT XC Specific tires is the widest on a 28-30mm rim.  

The LES SL is only compatible with 29” wheels

The Les SL uses the new Universal Derailleur Hanger (UDH) standard developed by SRAM. This derailleur hanger is compatible with all derailleurs on the market – not just SRAM. We spec this hanger because it has some clever derailleur saving features and is more likely to be found at any shop and are also available in our webstore.

The Les SL uses an axle for 148mm rear spacing designed for the new Universal Derailleur Hanger (UDH) standard. The rear axle supplied with the frame is a Pivot specific design using a 12mm X 1.0mm thread pitch. SRAM also makes compatible 148mm UDH axles. 

The LES SL will accept all cranks designed for the BOOST system and compatible with a Press Fit 92mm bottom bracket. BOOST system means that the rear hub spacing is 148mm and the chain-rings have (approximately) a 52mm chainline.

The LES SL uses a Pressfit BB92 (PF92) bottom bracket. All major crank manufacturers and many aftermarket companies make PF92 bottom brackets. However, if you are running a crank with a 30mm diameter spindle (like Race face) we highly recommend using a bottom bracket with a double row bearing design such as our Pivot Enduro BB.

No, the LES SL is designed to be 1x only.

The LES SL was designed for 100mm to 120mm fork travel. 120mm is the maximum travel length to be used on the LES SL. We use the FOX 32 Step Cast 100mm fork in all our complete bike builds. This fork is a 29” race-specific fork designed for 29” wheels with up to 2.3” tires and is NOT compatible with 27.5+ tires.

An e-type side-swing style front derailleur - Shimano produces the e-type side-swing front derailleur in:

- Deore & SLX for 10-speed drivetrains

- XT & XTR for 11-speed drivetrains

- SLX, XT & XTR for 12-speed drivetrains

For the LES SL, we use an integrated style headset. The upper bearing measures 1-1/8" with 45°/45° ACB & has an OD of 41.8mm. The lower bearing measures 1-1/2" with 45°/45° ACB & has an OD of 51.9mm.

No rear brake adapter is needed for a 160mm rotor. If you would like to put a 180mm rotor on, you will need a direct mount post-to-post adapter.

A size medium LES SL frame weighs just 1.7 lbs (800 grams). The complete Team XTR build weighs 19.8 lbs (9 kg.) Pivot bicycles are among the lightest available, but the weight is only one of many factors that make a great bicycle. Other aspects such as frame stiffness, strength, durability, and ride quality are just as important as weight to our engineers when designing our Hollow Core Carbon frames. Instead of comparing grams online, we suggest you visit your local Pivot dealer and see our attention to detail, smart, high-value spec, and class-leading features. Bring a scale if you’d like but take just one demo ride and you’ll feel why Pivot Cycles are the most well-rounded, highest performing bicycles on the market and in many cases, yes, it’s the lightest as well.
